focus

i am finally back with the finished product of the old man painting that i started a few weeks ago. as i said i did my best to follow the instructions given to me by mr.ransom.

the whole point was for the crazy background to serve as the pattern for his clothes. originally there was supposed to be more than just the torso showing the background, but i had to make a few changes to make it work.

we are quickly approaching my new show 'five deadly venoms' it should be a great night with dj's drinks and art. i will be back to give you more info on it later in the week. for now you check out the poster below.

transform!!

i know i am supposed to post the final version of the old kung-fu guy, but i am working on the final colors and want to make sure that everything looks right before i post that joint.

have no fear because today i have decided to put up one of the paintings that will be in the new show.

it is one in a series of six. basically the transformers go to the petting zoo and all decide to spend a little quality time with their favorite animals.

after a small debate over which one to post i decided to go with the one that had the least humor in it.

more to come.

mr. ransom pt.2

today i am back with part two of mr. ransom's instructions: sketch the character in marker, then fill in the background with a solid color.

i tried to mix up a cool looking purple but it seems a tad dark. i also went a little too free with the sketch lines so i might have to color in some areas that i didn't plan to.

the basic idea is to leave some of that craziness that i started with as part of his clothing and shoes.

i hope to be back early this week with the next step, and hopefully the finished product before the end of the week.

free at last!!!

well ladies and boys i know that i have been like a shitty parent that locks their child in the car while they go shopping on a hot sunny day, but i am back to roll the window down a crack.

i have been preparing for my next show, which i hope will be the biggest and best yet.

there is no name for the show yet, but i have been thinking that "get yours" might be a good name. there really is no thinking behind the name so don't bother.

today i hung out with my art consultant from england named 'mr.ransom'. he challenged me to turn one of my sketches into a painting. he was very precise with his instructions when he gave them to me. i told him that i would follow them as closely as i could.

so here we have step one: create a fucked up background.
